True Heroes

True Heroes

Yesterday, a students at Taylor Middle School went into cardiac arrest and, if not for the heroic actions of various school staff and county emergency services professionals, there would have likely been a very different outcome. These folks saved a life yesterday. There is a child who will be going home to his family hopefully very soon because several people didn’t panic, relied on their training and, most importantly, didn’t give up.

The last thing I want to do is take any of the attention away from these amazing people, but I would like to share several encouragements: Appreciate every moment you have with your children. Don’t take for granted any of the time you are able to spend with them. Forgive easily. Hug often. Listen with genuine interest. Eat as many meals as you can with you kids. Miss work related events in order to attend ballgames, plays, concerts, etc. You will never regret any of these choices.

Yesterday was a difficult day for a lot of people, but this morning an 11 year old boy woke up and saw a lot of smiling faces. So, yesterday doesn’t really seem so bad!
